What if we can go beyond Google Translate?

3PO is a speech-to-speech, real time translator.

Designed with simplicity in mind.

A giveback project to make it easier for everyone to help each other in multi-lingual environments (e.g. Olympics, hospitality industry or simply learning a new language.)

3PO has five unique features:

Zero configuration: Your conversation partner can speak in any of the 73 languages (or even use multiple languages). Speech-to-speech translation happens automatically and continuously. It's very easy to use.

"Sci-fi" Mode:  Give one ear pod to your partner to converse in different languages discreetly (Only one phone is needed.)

"Tune-in" Mode: Have 3PO listen in background, translate announcements and play translated speech to your headphone as it happens.

"Practice" Mode: Practise speaking a foreign language and see how accurate your pronounciation is. 3PO will provide real-time scoring for you.

Country specific voices: You can instruct 3PO to verbalize translations in different language flavors. For example, 3PO can speak English with Australian accent, Brazilian Portuguese or Canadian French.

Simplicity-first

1)  Unlike Google Translate, you do not need to select which language you are translating from.

2) Furthermore, multiple languages can be used within the same conversation, minimizing friction as you interact with multiple speakers.

This is particularly helpful where multiple languages are used in day-to-day interactions

For example, discussions in Eastern Ukraine may happen in Ukrainian or Russian. Restaurant staff in China may speak in local dialects (such as Cantonese or Sichuan) instead of Mandarin.

This is an important step forward towards achieving near real-time, multi-lingual communication.

What can 3PO do for you?

• Communicate with strangers quickly, with low friction
• Listen to broadcasts easily
• Assess your pronounciation when you practise speaking a foreign language

Example scenarios:

• Someone is in need of help, but you don’t know what he/she is talking about nor in which language.

• When travelling, you know something important is being broadcasted, but you have no clue what’s going on.

Now, you can just launch 3PO to “tune in”.
