Unlike all translation apps, Sato does not require you to know which language is being spoken to you.
Instead, Sato auto-identifies it and translate everything on-the-fly, hands-free.
Yes. It's that simple.
Just hit "Start" to detect language spoken and see translated text instantly. No touch required.
Sato can auto-detect 19 spoken languages: English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Italian, Romanian, Turkish, Persian, Hebrew, Arabic, Russian, Gujarati, Hindi, Bangla, Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese.
More languages being added, but advanced languages like Klingon, Vulcan or Kree will take a bit more time. :-)
Audio is analyzed on the fly and never stored on device or on cloud. Sato does not and will not sell your data. Period.
Sato is the only app that is capable of auto-identifying which language is being spoken to you.
Often times, you can't tell whether your counterparty is speaking Japanese, Korean, Russian or Hebrew to you. This knowledge gap makes it impossible to use any other translation apps such as Google Translate, iTranslate or SayHi.
Communication is fundamental to our human condition. We'd like Sato to help people make new friends even if they don't share a common language.
Small businesses can benefit from Sato too. You can now respond to simple questions easily, like having an universal translation device.
Sato could also help emergency response staff understand victims quickly (even when they cannot identify the victims' language.)
No. We do not sell your data. Period.
Sato is created in honor of a fictional character in the science fiction TV Series Star Trek: Enterprise. She is a polyglot who can speak 40 languages including Klingon. We name our app "Sato - Universal Translator 0.0.1" as a step towards that amazing translation device imagined by the creator of the TV series.
